Monthly Archives: November 2012

November Newsletter

The Blue Jacaranda November Newsletter was sent out last week –  to read it click here. Don’t forget that by signing up for the newsletter (via the tab above or use the link in the sidebar to the right) you automatically go in the draw to win a beautiful Blue Jacaranda prize each month. This month you can win this original art card (10×4 inch / 25 x 10 cm) – I used the seed pod of a Poinciana tree as a stamp to create the fabric on the front. At the back is plain muslin, so you can write a message with a gel pen or Sharpie. The card is finished with a satin stitch in silver metallic thread.
This could be a unique Christmas card for someone special, or a small art piece for yourself!

Take care,

Festive Collective

I am very excited to have been chosen to be part of Festive Collective, the end-of-year exhibition at Reverse Garbage (where I source my coffee bags). I am working hard now on a collection of burlap items for the exhibition – these Christmas ornaments are part of it.

The exhibition will showcase jewellery, soft furnishings, home wares, fine artworks, paper goods and gifts for the eco-conscious buyer. It kicks off on Saturday 24 November with an opening party that I am really looking forward to!

The Finders Keepers Market

Today I picked up my eldest son from his gymnastics training and together we went to The Finders Keepers Market. It was in The Old Museum (close to his gym), one of Brisbane’s older buidings (built in 1891). On the other side of the street is this appropriate traffic signal box:

I had a browse at the market…

… while my son was happy to wait for me outside 😉

One of my favourite stalls was the one of Rebound Books:

I couldn’t resist a 2013 diary made from a Little Golden Book:

Heidi was one of my favourite books when I was a child…

I captured this old piano:

And I was lucky to get a free Etsy shop critique with Jennie! (my son took the photo – the battery of his DS had gone flat)

Outside was this gorgeous coffee van…

… and on the veranda a fairy floss machine!

The Finders Keepers photographer took a photo of my son with his fairy floss 😉

We had a lovely afternoon!

Take care,
