After the fete

Well, the school fete is over for this year… I was exhausted last night – we also had a gymnastics carnival and my youngest son’s 7th birthday this weekend – but it was fun. Surprisingly I sold t-shirt yarn, eyeglass cases, word art cards and Dutch Houses, but no pencil rolls! So I am in the process of adding the pencil rolls I showed here last week to my Etsy shop, where I have created a new Pencil Rolls section. The shop will be getting a bit of a make-over in the next few weeks, but I will write more about that later.

Today was an unusually cold and wet day here in Brisbane, but spring has definitely sprung – look at that jacaranda on the other side of our street! Hurray, my favourite time of the year is here!

At the school fete on Sunday I won’t just be selling handmade items, but also some supplies, such as these charm packs of fabric squares for I Spy quilts…

… and balls of seamless t-shirt yarn, made from op shop t-shirts.

I made this small bowl for my business cards, and to show people what you can do with t-shirt yarn.

And I’m in the process of setting up my stall in our hall. Looking forward to Sunday!

Baby Quilt

This sweet and simple baby quilt (100 x 75 cm) was made with some squares that were left over from another project. The backing is a red and white polka dot fabric. Perfect for a little girl! It will be for sale at the Family Fun Day (fete) at Wooloowin State School on Sunday 15 September.
